Honda's latest ad features a new K9 concept with angular lines, plastic body cladding, and blacked out A-pillars

Honda has launched a new ad campaign that acknowledges the past, while also looking into the future.
Called “Keep Dreaming,” the commercial was created to take viewers on a “cinematic journey of the company’s environmental leadership” while also promoting the 2024 Prologue EV.
The clip starts by showing a 1975 Civic equipped with a 1.5-liter CVCC engine. Honda notes it was the “first engine to meet strict emissions standards of the U.S. Clean Air Act without use of a catalytic converter.”

As the commercial progresses, we’re shown the 1999 Honda Insight, which was the first hybrid sold in America. Of course, it was annihilated by the Toyota Prius that arrived shortly thereafter.
The clip then shows the 2008 FCX Clarity, which was the first hydrogen-powered vehicle to be offered to retail customers. The Clarity is also notable for offering an electric variant in its second-generation, although it only had 89 miles (143 km) of range in 2019.
The HondaJet 2600 concept is highlighted for its ability to fly nonstop across the transcontinental United States as it has a range of 2,625 nautical miles (3,021 miles / 4,862 km). The jet can cruise at 450 knots (518 mph / 833 km/h) and hit a ceiling of 47,000 feet (14,326 meters).
Staying aloft, the eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) concept makes a short appearance. It’s slated to have a “gas turbine hybrid power unit” as fully electric eVTOL aircraft have short ranges and are limited to intra-city use.
Following a brief glimpse at autonomous work vehicles and Motocompacto e-scooters, Honda shows a couple of “fictional vehicles.” That being said, the sedan closely echoes the e:N GT concept that was introduced in 2021.
It then morphs into a stylish ‘K9’ crossover concept that has angular lines, plastic body cladding, and blacked out A-pillars. We can also see flush-mounted door handles, digital side mirrors, and a ‘floating’ roof that slopes down to meet an angular rear pillar.
The concept is undeniably cool and looks like an edgier version of the e:N2 concept as well as the e:NS 2 prototype. The latter previews a production model that will be launched in China next year.
